The corrs have become an international success virtually overnight with two multi-platinum albums "Forgiven, not Forgotten" and "Talk on Corners". The family of four, three sisters and a brother, can attribute their success to fate and a chance meeting with a record producer in New York but have since proven themselves well worth the first audition. In 1998, the Corrs performed at Londons Royal Albert Hall to a packed house on Saint Patricks Day. Their dynamic stage performance is a tribute to their combined talents and irish background. Performing their music on the most celebrated of Irish days gives the experience that extra emotion to it.

It would have been a perfect video transfer, for a concert, for a few niggling things that crept in the more I watched the disc. At certain times there is video noise in the signal during some close-ups and crowd scenes. These were more apparent than some other discs I've seen but still only marginal. Other than that, the disc looks excellent. Shadow detail is great, and the vibrancy of the onstage color is incredible. Can you say blues, blues, blues, blues and a bit of green? Image detail and sharpness is perfect and the image still gives off that soft, smooth look to it.

Tis a great sounding disc Shamus. A two sided disc provides a linear PCM soundtrack on one with a dolby digital 5.1 track on the flip. I listened to the linear PCM side and flipped to random sections on the 5.1 side. The sound is excellent and it's a testament to just how well these girls perform live. There are 2 noticable differences between the 2 sides. The PCM side has more punch to it when it comes to the bass but lacks the ambience of the crowd cheering, they almost sound muffled when they cue. The 5.1 side has a slightly more open surround stage which only really kicks in with the audience participation and is not as potent in the bottom end.

I've got a greater appreciation for this band. The ability to perform flawlessly on stage is a major drawcard in my books. Pure music and nothing synthetic also gives a warmer performance and some of the violin and musical solos are warmly received by both myself and the audience.
