Cartman Joins NAMBLA: Fed up with his immature friends, Cartman turns to the Internet to find some more mature buddies to hang out with. Entering a chat room he posts a message looking for men who like young boys - nearly bringing down servers all over the country as the replies come thick and fast. He sets up some meetings, but why does the FBI keep arresting his newfound friends? Meanwhile Kenny is tormented by thoughts of a new sibling on the horizon, so he sets out to stifle his parents' plans by foul means or fouler. What is eight and a half inches? Can Mephisto genetically engineer some friends for Cartman (and how many asses will they have)? Will Kenny's Dad survive a shattered left testicle, or will a lack of bodily fluids get him first? Will Butters take one for the team? How many Marlon Brando look-alikes ARE there in the world? Kenny gets squished, but we do discover why he always reappears...

Cherokee Hair Tampons: The guys have a substitute teacher ripe for the messing with, as Mr Garrison's teaching methods are (finally) being questioned. Meanwhile poor little Kyle is away ill, so the class gets into the glittery and gluey spirit to turn Butters into a get-well card. Nobody seems to realise just how ill Kyle really is, as his Mum looks to holistic remedies from Miss Information's New Age shop, Stan visits the hospital and discovers that his best friend may die if he doesn’t receive a kidney transplant. There's just one problem, Cartman is the only compatible donor, however donning his Kidney Blocker 2000 he won’t consider helping out for less than $10 million. Meanwhile, Mr Garrison's extended hiatus from work sees him writing a 'romance' novel. Will Stan's cunning plan work? What is that white stuff coming from Cartman's nose? Just what is free-range aspirin? How many times can you use the word 'penis' in the one novel? What have Cheech and Chong got to do with anything? Kenny gets a lesson from a piano...

Chef Goes Nanners: Chef and Jimbo are arguing over the South Park flag. Chef declares it to be racist and insensitive (gee, it only shows four white guys gathered around a hanging black guy, what's his problem?!) whilst Jimbo claims you can't mess with history. Our favourite class are given the topic to debate, with Stan and Kyle against the change, whilst Cartman and Wendy are for it. Chef converts to Islam, the mayor looks for ways to absolve herself of any responsibility as the whole town joins in the debate, and everybody learns a lesson from the mouths of babes. Will the flag dilemma be solved? Who on earth is Chris Peterson? Can a smile make all the difference? Are Cartman and Wendy really an item? Will Stan break out of his catatonia? Are Cartman and Russell Crowe in fact the same person? Why doesn’t Ned have a volume knob? Who's got the silliest thing on under their robe? Abdul Mohammed Jabar what, what, what? Kenny explodes...

Something You Can Do With Your Finger: After a rather vivid dream, Cartman thinks he's found a mission from God that holds the answers to his monetary prayers - he needs to form a boy band. Roping in Kyle, Stan and Kenny, and unconcerned about their complete lack of talent (hey, it never stopped anybody else) they realise that they need a fifth member, auditions are held and after one giant envelope-push of a song the new addition (or should that be 'edition'?) of Fingerbang is found - Wendy Testaburger (hey, nobody will notice she's a chick!) Costumes and all they recruit Timmy to make a video then set out to get their first gig - at the local mall, just like Tiffany! Is Cartman ready for fame? What ghosts are haunting Mr Marsh? Will Stan douche? Where did Ike learn to sing Danny Boy? Has Peanuts' Schroeder defected? Who will be the tough one? Is Mr Mackey REALLY going to drink that? Can the band get past the mall cops? Why don’t the mall sell orange smoothies any more? Can Fingerbang compete with a sausage and cheese cart? Kenny gets a lift...

The fourth season of South Park continues to travel its typically twisted course, and visually it is as sweeeeeet as ever. As on occasions with previous discs there are odd instances of small gremmies that the more nitpicky out there will no doubt throw their arms up in the air in despair about, mainly in the forms of small jaggies, occasional aliasing on fine lines (like Cartman's double/triple/quadruple chin) and flicky bits where whoever put the disc together seemingly hit 'pause' before a fade to black between the first two episodes. If you are a normal human though just sit back, take a load off and relax - even if you live in SBS' transmission tower you won't have seen the show presented as pristinely as this before. The Dolby Surround sound is as serviceable as ever, and there was certainly nothing with it that gave cause for me to complain.

To rewrite that which I have already done a fair bit lately, the episodes are all complete and uncut, and for those that may be labouring under the misapprehension that any bleeping has been an attack by the censors then think again, any such occurrences were put there by the creators. The use of Amaray cases naturally continues, after the packaging travesty that was the first seven releases. Interestingly, an included flyer shows these early releases are now out in Amaray cases (well, in the UK at least), so it would be a very nice gesture if Warner could make the slicks for these available for local owners of the discs so that we can make our collections look more, umm, collectiony. So, how about it peoples, pleeeeeeeeease?!

Not surprisingly extras-wise there's still zip, nada, nothing, a big fat Cartman-like zero. There is a section that has a picture of the cover for the previous volume, however the 'more' button just drops back to the main menu from there. Somebody just may have oopsed here.

What more can I say? Duh, if you're a fan you'll want to get your mittens on this disc! Four more great episodes, seemingly continuing with the tendency to make the messages Trey and Matt wish to convey a little more overt as with the earlier series four episodes. Perhaps they got sick of explaining themselves, or perhaps it's just that they felt the need to clunk people over the head a bit more when dealing with such topics as paedophilia, racism and the often-underrated value of friendship? Either way they, as almost always, handle it particularly well - although naturally there will always be those ignorant tub thumpers out there ever-so-quick to condemn the show as immoral and demanding we "think of the children" without ever having seen it. Phooey to them, it never was, and still isn’t, a show for kids, and if children are watching it then perhaps some responsibility should be taken by their parents? Ooh, what a subversive concept...
