This disc features a performance from the talented, "bensonish" jazz guitarist Mark Whitfield and his friend and collaborator JK. In this concert the two play jazz based music mixed with R&B, Soul and Blues influences that works well for some songs but not for others.

This performance features the following tracks:

1. Whatever It Takes5. Miami Sunset
2. Hand To Mouth6. On The Edge
3. Talk To Me7. In The Backseat
4. Reflections Of You

This disc is your usual Jazz Channel Presents affair. A fair video transfer that has ok close and middle distance detail but lacks a little in the longer shots. The colour level is strong, bordering on overly saturated, but nothing to be to concerned about. Aliasing and cross colouration occur on guitar strings, piano keys and the like but I didn't find them a distraction.

The audio quality is very good. I sampled the DTS and DD 5.1 tracks. The DTS track features a nicely refined sound that makes good use of the front main channels. The centre channel is not used at all while the surrounds carry reverb and crowd noise. The subwoofer adds some extra punch to the bass lines without overpowering the other instruments. The Dolby Digital 5.1 track is mastered higher by at least 4 db and is also very good. It uses the channels in the same way as the DTS track but lacks just a little in refinement.

The extras are limited to a one page biography for Mark Whitfield and a 17 odd minute interview feature. This feature is a little unusual as music from the concert is featured with a small "window" displayed in the corners of the screen in which we see Mark Whitfield or JK interviewed. While they are speaking the concert audio is lowered. In the interviews the two talk about how they came to meet, how the callaboration began and what their musical influences are.

  •   And I quote...
"Some hot guitar playing is the feature of this solid Jazz Channel Presents DVD that, for me, lacks just a little soul but is still solid entertainment."
