People Are Alike All Over (Ep 25)
Two pioneering astronauts crash land on Mars. One dies just before discovering that Mars has life that looks like us and talks like us, and are more than happy to help the lone surviving astronaut while they repair the crashed ship. But are they really anything like us? Asides from the obvious similarities, even though they're a helpful and pleasant race, the survivor is about to find that they're far too much like us in the worst ways… Valley of the Shadow (Ep 105) (1 hour ep)
Ever wondered why people live in those odd little towns in out of the way places? (you know, places like Geelong and Ballarat) Why do the people stay there? Why are they so happy? Are they really happy at all? What are they hiding from us? Why are so many of them called Russell? Philip Redfield never really thought about it much. That is until one day, lost and out of gas, he stumbles into one of these odd little towns. The people there seem a little odd, and he sees something odd happen to his dog. It's all quite odd, but oddly enough he can't figure out what it is. Soon however, his nosey ways (he's a reporter you see) forces the town to reveal the little secret it's been hiding from the rest of the world. Black Leather Jackets (Ep 138)
Three mysterious leather clad bikers move in to town, and the locals are a bit concerned. But it's not a case of pot parties and hep cat biker type shenanigans that have the locals worried, it's the lack of furniture and the way whatever they're doing is interrupting the electricity and television reception. Those damn no good punk kids must be up to no damn good…

And so The Twilight Zone notches up yet another fine video and audio transfer to keep the masses of fans happy and sedated in their search for nostalgia and lost youth . As usual the shows are good clean fullframe images with each being the preferable film based episodes. The only noticeable downside is a fair bit of noticeable wobble in the image during People Are Alike All Over and two drifting vertical white lines that appear for around a minute in Black Leather Jackets which obviously come from the source material. The audio is in mono, and it does a fine job of relaying the not too taxing dialogue, effects and score clearly and distinctly with a minimum of hiss and distortion. The extra features on the dvd consist of a selection of text based screens. They contain a Rod Serling Biography, Season By Season Commentary, History Of The Twilight Zone and Reviews of the individual episodes on the disc. Sure, it’s not a comprehensive package, but there’s some good (but brief) reading, and the reviews are quite interesting.
