  1. Describe your age.
Old enough to know better, young enough to still get asked for ID.

  2. Where were you five years ago?
Still at Uni, working part time at my current work place, getitng into all sorts of things which are keeping me sane now.

  3. Where do you see yourself five years from now?
Married, with children. Hopefully enjoying my work, or earning enough income from my hobbies to not have to work:)

  4. What's a good night's entertainment for you and your friends?
Cruising around, maybe watching a movie at Fox Studios, Broadway or Burwood, some food or coffee or maybe going out to some crappy club.

  5. What got you into DVD and how long ago?
Hmm. I, like Steve, was into Laserdiscs. I got into LDs just before DVD was begining, and do not regret it. I was very pro DVD, which was against what a lot of die hard LD fans were saying, all of whom by now have converted for sure. I knew DVD was the future, I just didnt want to take the plunge too early, so I went the PC way, and got a DVD-ROM in about 1998, which I'm still using.

  6. What do you love about DVD?
Anamorphics. And the fact that the movie studios are taking it very seriously. Adding a lot of value with re-releases, and lots of extra is totally awesome. It was almost unimaginable a few years ago.

  7. Given the advances in DVD over the past few years, does the format still surprise you and why?
Yes. I guess I dont watch DVDs as often as others, but when firing up a top quality movie, I'm stil blow away by the sound and video quality. Terminator 2 Ulitmate edition was definetly a big suprise, those menu's and the custom THX trailer was what its all about. Box sets rock too.

  8. What title in your collection do you use to introduce friends and family to DVD and why?
It used to be Starship Troopers, but now its more likely to be Super Speedway, Terminator 2 UE, Toy Story 2. All of them have amazing sound and video, and TS2's opening is just soo cool.

  9. Outside of DVD, what keeps you entertained?
Lots of things, cars, hifi, games, photography.

  10. Have you ever met someone famous before and/or wish to meet someone famous?
Ive been through a fair few "6 degrees of seperation" in my head, and and link to people like Michael Jordan, The Pope, Jack Nicolson, and Rupert Murdoch pretty easily. I have met Mr THX Tom Holmam. And I'm sure there have been other encounters I cant remmeber at the moment. They must not have been all that famous.

  11. What is your current method of transport and what would you like to upgrade to?
This is a whole essay in itself. I currently have a 1996 WRX. Which will be very shortly for sale. It's replacement will most likely be a 200SX or Commodore VU SS ute. What I'd really like is a E55 or C32 Merc.

  12. What is your favorite recipe/meal/take-away?
Lately I've been making a wicked Pork stir fry. Unfortunely I havent made it for anyone else yet, so it might really be crap.

  13. What is the only joke you seem to remember when people around you are telling jokes?
There are a few new ones, but for some reason i often go back to:

  14. Can you juggle? Can you juggle knives? Can you still juggle?
    None of the above.

  15. What are the most memorable nicknames you've had in your lifetime?
Kula. A lot of people dont call me Mark, I guess there are too many Marks in the world. Kuls as well, or variants there of.

  16. What was the first video game you fell in love with, on what machine? What is your favourite now?
Mission Impossible, Commodore 64. Now it's either Quake3 (for some weird reason), or Tony Hawk Pro Skating 2 on the Gameboy Advance. Man that thing rocks.

  17. What are your favourites? (Music, movies, books, anything!)
Another potential book. Music, soo varied. Lately I've been listening to: Craig David, D12, Dire Straits, Fleetwood Mac, Nelly (not Futardo) and Carl Cox.

  18. What DON'T you like about DVD?
The amount of shelf space my collection takes up, and the lack of time I have to watch them all several times.

Mark's recent reviews:

Mission: Impossible
"Your mission, should you chose to accept it, is to watch and be enthralled by one of the all time classic spy movies, presented on a fine DVD."

Dogma
"A great transfer, great video, great audio. Average extras, and a good film. Dogma boils down to you enjoying and understanding Kevin Smith's comedy, I do, so I like it all."

Where the Heart Is (Rental)
