Ana Torroja & Miguel Bose - Girados en Concierto
Warner Vision/Warner Vision . R4 . COLOR . 130 mins . E . NTSC

I thought this concert disc might be worth reviewing since both I and my partner Robyn love the music of Spain, especially the passionate Flamenco.

In the end this turned out to be proof that banality knows no boundaries. It's about as sexy and exciting as a Kylie Minogue concert - she of the over-hyped bottom.

Ana Torroja and Miguel Bose are preening Spanish pop super-stars with absolutely no value outside their own country. Kylie at least has managed to also penetrate into the English heartland - it's amazing what a famous bum can do for one!

The transfer is fine for a bright and brassy concert, and the two-channel sound, though not outstanding, is clear and crisp.

There are no extras apart from an un-needed multi-angle facility. The disc features commentary between musical numbers by the two stars. Because there are no subtitles, this is a completely wasted feature.

This disc would probably be appreciated by a Spanish audience. After all, there is no crassness as special as your own country's crassness. Warners obviously doesn't expect it to have appeal outside of a Spanish-speaking audience, or else subtitles would have been provided.
